If you have a different model handheld, the results could be unpredictable.
 
 
F8HP PRO frequency range
 
There are two frequency ranges for the F8HP PRO.
One for use in the US Ham Bands Only. (Part 97)
The other for countries outside the US.
 
 
The General frequency range is listed below:

   FM:    88-108MHz (RX)
   AM:   108-136MHz (RX)
   VHF:  136-174MHz (RX & TX)
   VHF:  200-260MHz (RX & TX)
   UHF:  350-390MHz (RX)
   UHF:  400-520MHz (RX & TX)
 
 
The Part 97 (US) range is:

   FM:    88-108MHz (RX)
   AM:   108-136MHz (RX)
   VHF:  136-174MHz (RX)
   VHF:  144-148MHz (RX & TX)
   VHF:  200-260MHz (RX)
   VHF:  222-225MHz (RX & TX)
   VHF:  350-390MHz (RX)
   UHF:  400-520MHz (RX)
   UHF:  420-450MHz (RX & TX)
  
 
 
Band Setting Options
 
Verify the current operating mode.
-  Power OFF the radio
-  Press and Hold the [8] key
-  Power ON the radio
The current operating mode will be displayed.
   (Part 97 or General)
 
 
Set to Part 97 (US Ham Bands)
 

-  Power OFF the radio
-  Press and Hold both the PTT and [5] key
-  Power  ON  the radio
 
 
Set to General Mode (Outside US only)
 

-  Power OFF the radio
-  Press and Hold both the PTT /  SK2 keys  /  [1] Key
-  Power  ON  the radio
