Antenna
The antenna is currently fixed, however, it can be removed using a small Torx
screwdriver. Lifting the rubber ring at the base of the antenna exposes the
small set screw. This allows the antenna to be removed if upgrading the antenna
is desired. The connector on the radio is an SMA female.
The included antenna sweeps extremely well on the GMRS frequencies with an SWR
of 1.6:1 through the GMRS band (462-462MHz).
Transmitter
There are 3 audio level settings (Low, Normal, High). When set to Normal, the audio quality is very good when speaking about 1" across the front of the
radio.
Power levels were right at the advertised rating of 4.9W with 0.5W on the
shared FRS channels. The power levels below were taken a
calibrated Bird Wattmeter.

Receiver
-
Receiver sensitivity is very good with plenty of loud audio. A press of the
side button activates the FM broadcast radio which stays active until activity
is detected on the main channel. When the received signal disappears, the FM
broadcast station will return after 3 seconds.
-
A Long Press of the scan key activates the scan mode with a
speed of approximately 5 channels per second.
- There a 16 Zone options with 16 channels permitted in each zone. These
zones can be selected and scanned individually. This is useful when traveling and
when scanning NOAA weather channels.

character channel names.

Frequency Range
The HA1G has 250 channel capability. Channels 1-30 are fixed GMRS frequencies,
while channels 31-250 can be users programmed. The software for these radios can be found at the
Ailunce Support Site.
The
Ailunce HA1G is a solidly built handheld with a full 5W GMRS transmit. I've had a chance
to use the HA1G on several occasions with excellent results. The addition of the
16 Zone option is a major plus. The upgradable firmware assures you of the
latest features.
